Best FiveM Loading Screen Dimensions & Resolution Settings

Design guide: What size should your FiveM loading screen background be? Learn how to handle ultrawide monitors and responsive CSS scaling.

Best FiveM Loading Screen Dimensions & Resolution Settings

You designed a beautiful loading screen on your laptop, but when a player with an Ultrawide monitor joins, the background image repeats itself or gets stretched horizontally. To fix this, you need to understand the best FiveM loading screen dimensions and resolution settings.

The Ideal Base Resolution: 1920x1080

The absolute best baseline dimension for a FiveM background image or video is 1920x1080 pixels (1080p).

  • Why not 4K (3840x2160)? A 4K image file is massively bloated. It increases load times significantly, and the vast majority of players still play on 1080p or 1440p monitors. The bandwidth cost isn't worth the minor visual upgrade.
  • Why not 720p? Text and sharp edges will look noticeably blurry on modern monitors. 1080p is the perfect sweet spot for file size vs. visual fidelity.

Fixing Aspect Ratios (The CSS Magic)

Even if you use a 1080p image, a player on an Ultrawide (21:9) monitor will see blank bars on the sides of the screen. To fix this, you must use CSS to ensure the image mathematically covers the entire screen, regardless of the monitor's shape.

/* The CORRECT way to scale a background image */
body {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    background-image: url('background.png');

    /* This centers the image */
    background-position: center;

    /* This prevents the image from repeating like tiles */
    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    /* THIS IS THE MAGIC LINE */
    /* It scales the image to cover the screen without stretching */
    background-size: cover;
}

Handling UI Elements (Flexbox)

The background image is only half the battle. Your text, logos, and progress bars also need to adapt. Never use absolute pixel positioning (e.g., left: 500px;). If you do, your logo will be in the center of a 1080p screen, but shoved to the left on a 4K screen.

Always use CSS Flexbox or Grid with percentages (%) or viewport units (vw, vh) to build responsive layouts.

Automatic Responsiveness

Coding responsive CSS that perfectly scales text and boxes from a 720p laptop to a 4K ultrawide monitor is a frustrating, time-consuming process.

Every template generated by the ViceForge Builder is mathematically engineered to be 100% responsive out of the box. It looks flawless on every single monitor aspect ratio, automatically.
